For The Love Of Skating? Or For The Look?

April 15, 2008

Do you just love to skateboard or do you do it because of the look. SMH at people I’ve seen the past 3 weeks. Everyone is walking around with a board. Some people can barely ride it, some can barely ollie, and so on and so forth. Especially those kids that wear the whole fit, the DC hoody, DC shirt, and DC cap. And those that walk around just holding the board while it looks like it hasnt even touched the ground (no scratches).

There really arent many good skaters amongst all of this recent hype of skateboarding. They all just stay in skate parks now. So if you skate for the look, then please stop embarrasing yourselves. For those that love it, keep on kickin’ and pushin’, lol.

As dope of a musician as he is, we all know “Skateboard P” cannot skateboard whatsoever.
“The Look”

The Love Of Skating. Legit Shit. P-Rod Himself.
“The Love”

Think about it, look around when your out walking. Ask yourself is he doing it for the love of skating, or is he doing it for the look?

Chipotle vs. Qdoba? Which One Do You Like?

April 15, 2008

As we all know, ever since Chipotle came onto the scene we haven’t been able to get enough of it. Whether you get a burrito, quesadillas, tacos, a burrito bowl, or whatever it may be I’m sure you loved and so did I!

Chipotle became more than a restaraunt for a lot of people, it became a hang out spot where people went to chill with their friends on a friday night. I loved Chipotle and still do to this day. Might go grab myself a burrito after this post.

Lately, I have been hearing about this new restaraunt called “Qdoba”. Everyone always runs up to me and says, “Qdoba sh!ts on Chipotle, its way better”. I brush them off knowing that the chances of that were slim to none. I finally got around to trying this Qdoba place and I must say it was DISGUSTING!

Contrary to what was told to me, Chipotle sh!ts on Qdoba. It’s not even a competition for me. If you have an opinion on this topic, then drop a comment and we’ll see whats good.

Tell people whichever one you prefer in the comment box. Chipotle for me!

Sports Sunday Column to appear on “What’s Really Real?!” Blog

April 15, 2008

Starting this Sunday, April 20th, the “What’s Really Real?!” Family will introduce a new series to its already impressive set of news, notes, and things that make you go, “that shit is hot!,” with the addition of a new sports-specific column from Baltimore native P. Joseph (The Explosive).

The column will feature his thoughts regarding the local sports scene in the DC.Baltimore.Virginia area. This includes professional teams such as the NBA’s Washington Wizards, MLB’s Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals, NHL’s Washington Capitals, the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens and Washington Redskins and MLS’ DC United. However, there will be no coverage regarding the WNBA’s Washington Mystics (sorry).

In addition, Georgetown Hoyas men’s basketball coverage will be provided once the college basketball season arrives, and of course any national sports headlines that are worthy of conversation will be posted in the column as well.

P. Joseph is glad to be a part of the family, and is looking forward to continue his writing excellence on the blog.

Background Info on P. Joseph:

P. Joseph has written for publications such as Press Box Sports, CAAInsider.com, DigitalSports.com and has covered his school’s varsity soccer, basketball, and baseball teams in addition to other schools in his school’s respective league (the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association). In his spare time, he is found searching for useless information and wasting time on Facebook, Wikipedia, NikeTalk, and ESPN. He is an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Arsenal FC, New York Jets, and Georgetown Hoyas. He is currently interested in studying sports journalism in a major media market after high school graduation. Lastly, he is a native of the Dominican Republic and has been living in Baltimore, Maryland for the last fifteen years.

DMV Like Sheeettttt

April 15, 2008

If your on this blog, I know you like to get fresh and do your thing. America is a big ass place. When you think about the major cities in the country, what cities come to mind? You have LA, Chicago, ATL, NYC, Houston, and last but not least our very own D.C. Every city has its own swag, wherever you go. But D.C. or should I say the DMV(D.C., Maryland, Virginia) has that unique flavor to it.

Whether it be fitted caps, The NorthFace, lanyards, NB 992’s, raw denim, Nike boots, whatever it may be we manage to put our swag into it. Not to say that other cities aren’t rockin’ the same stuff, but the way we rock it is different. If you tryna feel and look legit, I’m gonna break it all down for you, from the bottom up.

Straight to the kicks, if your not on that high baller shit yet, just buy yourself some simple New Balance 992’s. You can’t go wrong with that. They go with anything you wear and they’re super comfortable.

992’s

Nike Boots, Wale all day. He is the truth.

Next, I wanna cover the denim. Raw/Selvage denim is whats really real right now. If your able to spend money like that, a pair WESC’s or Nudies will do you right, but there’s nothing wrong with a nice pair of Gap’s lol. They do the job.

Gap Raw Denim

Next up is the t-shirt game. In my opinion, t-shirts are an important part in your outfit because that is what people see first. They remember your kicks, and then your shirt. Some brands that are putting out some good stuff include Stussy, The Hundreds, Orisue, Crooks and Castles, Alife, Mishka, Rocksmith, I mean the list could go on and on. Take your pick.

Stussy, now that we speak of them. Have just opened a flagship store in D.C.’s Georgetown area. Make a trip out there and get all the latest Stussy gear directly from the source.

Stussy

The Hundreds

And last but not least you need to have your accessories in check. I’m talking Major fitted caps, belts, NorthFace backpacks, Ipod, and Solbiato lanyards. If you have the money a nice G-Shock watch on the wrist won’t hurt. Accessories are what completes your look. They complement your swag. Accessories may go unnoticed, but they make a big impact on your overall look.

MAJOR fitted cap, which is also located in Georgetown along with Stussy.

NorthFace backpack, who doesn’t have one? lol

All of the things listed are us, the DMV. Don’t fall behind in the never ending trends of our area. I ask you, What’s Really Real??!!?!?!
